The Element Mendelevium
Mendelevium is a rare, radioactive metal which is named after Dmitri Mendeleev, the father of the Periodic Table. Researchers have shown that mendelevium has a moderately stable dipositive (II) oxidation state and that Mendelevium-256 has been used to find out more about chemical properties of the element while it is in its aqueous state. Since only very trace amounts of mendelevium has ever been produced, we have no evidence of its industrial uses or application to day to day life.
