The Element Europium
Europium can never be found as a free element in the nature, but there are number of minerals containing it such as monazite and bastnasite. These two sources are widely used for the commercial extraction of Europium. It is believed Europium is available in our sun and certain stars.
There is a wide usage of this element in many fields; used to dope some types of glass for making lasers and screening for Down syndrome and some other genetic diseases. Europium is also used for the production of “tubes” for televisions and computer monitors.
