The Element Tungsten


Tungsten is a steel grey metal that is found in several ores such as wolframite and scheelite which is often brittle and hard to work with. However, in its purest form working with tungsten becomes easier. Adding to its physical properties tungsten boasts of having the highest melting point, lowest vapor pressure and the highest tensile strength.

Industrially tungsten is used in many walks of life including as alloys, missile and high temperature applications, used in chemical tanning industry as a salt and as filaments for electric lamps and television tubes.
